  1. Thought this was of interest for the group. I don’t really see the appeal of FT8…. but I could see it’s usage in a grid-down or other emergency scenario. As I get older, the struggle between an open mind/old curmudgeon is real!

  2. I agree
    as technology improves we all carry gear that requires some form of it
    I wish I could just use my map & compass and not worry about comms
    I have always like the KISS principle, “keep it simple stupid”
    less gear, less moving parts = less failure hopefully
